It would cost around 1500 to put 2 primary cars back should the next mot tester not be so easy going.... And if previous mot testers have turned a blind eye to it then what else have they let through?
Just not worth the hassle on a £16000 high performance car.
That cars been up for sale for nearly 2 years and has dropped 3 grand from the asking price in that time so it's obviously putting everyone else off as well.
It's still up for sale at average C63 money.... It'll need to drop another 2 or 3 grand for someone to take the risk.

The car can be in really good condition but if the MOT is not right it would still put me off buying it.
No problem.
I just have a different opinion to you.
I would buy it if it was what I wanted even with cats removed, you wouldn’t, that’s fine

The price would have to be reflective of other C63 prices for sure, or at least have the saving of then wanting to buy cats for it if the new owner wished.
I just think everyone is getting too obsessed on these mot rules.
I bet lots of the Cosworth owners on here struggle to get their cars through emission tests.....

It's not about being obsessed with MOT rules, until someone changes the current law any car more than 3 years old needs an MOT done properly. What would you do if your car failed an MOT, tell the tester he should still pass it as he is to obsessed with the rules?

My cars don’t fail mots as they are in optimum condition when I put them in for one.

The rules are the rules regardless of whether people consider them obsessive, most folk will view an mot as a true representation of the vehicles condition. If we decide to pick and choose what' parts of it we don't want to bother about then the whole systems not worth the paper it's written on.
Not everyone is a mechanic.

I look after my cars mechanically as well but im not a mechanic so im not going to jack the car up and check all the ball joints etc. that's why we have mot centres where we can take our cars to someone you can trust to check your car over thoroughly according to the letter of the law and advise/fix accordingly...

That was the silver estate... I phoned the garage and he was typical salesman vague about besic stuff like the last time it was serviced..... Just saying they've sold it before to serial car changing customers who don't keep them long.... I zoomed in on the silver estate and it had the cheapest of the cheap tyres.... For me that means it's been owned by someone that couldn't afford to maintain it properly and he was only prepared to knock 140 of the price so I'm going to see a different car tomorrow.

If you think an mot is really a good interpretation of how good a condition a car is in then you are very mistaken.
In some cases they ain’t worth the paper they are printed on!
But you can believe what you want

Nothings a guarantee but a proper mot is going to be a truer reflexion on a cars real condition than a snidey mates garage who pays little or no attention to the rules type mot....
