Default Isle of Wight Ford takeover.

Anyone on here go to it? What did you think of it? First time for me. One thing I noticed was, even from last year when I visited the Island,

Nice rally Cosworth 3 door

Escos rally car.

RST inspired van. Looks like Ford would have made one.

Another nice RST

Bubble arched Mk1 escort rally rep.

Tasty Mk2 Escort.

Another Mk2 Escort

There were only 4 Saffs including mine.

Nice looking Mondeo.

Lovely condition Escos

Up on the top deck of the ferry coming back to Southampton.
how many new speed limits there are now on the roads, the roads where it is out of the limit are getting fewer and fewer. There were of course hundreds of Focus RS and ST models and Fiesta STs but they are not really what interest me.

It seems from the lack of interest not a show that most people were fussed about going to !!

I think the cost of the ferry puts people off, its shot up loads in recent years. Always a good show though, I went a couple of years ago when my folks lived there.

The Ferry companies must make a fortune for what they charge for such a short journey. I was talking to people who live there and they all say the cost is way to high. We went over from Southampton first thing on Saturday morning to make a proper week-end of it.

Not that long ago it was about 40 quid return on the ferry, now it's up to about 100. You used to be able to sit in your car too, great when the kids are asleep after the journey, but now they force you out for health and safety reasons, more like so you are spending money in the cafe...

I was there, I waved to cossynut2 I think, yours is the white saph with the private plate? Last year a few of us went over and camped, this year we booked a chalet at one of the holiday parks and it was quality, had a hot tub and everything lol unlike last year we did not really take part in the activities that went on where as last year we did, we just stayed at the holiday park and got on it, I felt a bit fragile on the Sunday, we arrived at the show at half 8 but by 1pm we ducked out. The party I was with stopped at a pub to food up but I just made for the ferry port and got on a 2:30pm boat back to the mainland but not before some stupid women dropped her bike on my car on the car deck of the ferry ffs

we got a saving on the crossing as we booked everything with the holiday park, we went over Friday and came back Sunday. It is a good event I heard the were 900 cars this year, weather was a bit hit and miss this year, last year was better but all in all I think it is a good event and makes for a good road trip, defo do it again

What car did you come in Charlie? My Saff was the white one with a private plate. There were only 3 others that I saw and a couple of 3 doors plus a lovely restored RS500. I think out of the 900 cars 850 of them were Focus RS,ST and Fiesta St models!! Did you see the Group that came all the way from Germany? I originally come from the IOW so have no problem finding my way around!!
