Default Brakes and suspension on a mk2

My mates going to change his mk2 to blacktop and twin throttles etc. Hes wondering what suspension and brakes he should be going for. Wants to keep it reasonably sensible. It has Std everything on it now so it's definitely not up to the task. Willwoods?? I told him not to get AP's there wasnt any sense, the willwoods will do the same job. But I didn't have a clue about suspension. I don't think he wants it slammed on its arse but doubt a little drop would bother him.

Any ideas guys?
