Default MK1 Focus RS ECUs?!?!?!

With my motor built and waiting for my Ohlins suspension, am looking into a new ECU for my Focus.

Engine is built with a Peron Twin Scroll manifold with a EFR6758. What are other owners using for ECUs? Heard good things about OMEX and AEM. I like that AEM work with their own digital displays.

Cheers

Choose your mapper first then ask them what Ecu to use.

a strong vote for Mark's ability

Awesome! I have followed Mark's work for years. My Fav Cossie being his black 400bhp Escort followed by Dave Moss' Escort when it was at 360bhp. Mark is the MAD Scientist for sure! Always pushing the envelope!

I'd consider anything he'd recommend and most likely bite the bullet too!

He probably can't comment about working on your car as it would be classed as trading and breaking the rules!

My sons Focus RS has just been mapped. Runs an Omex 710 piggy backed on to the std Focus RS ecu so all the clocks etc still work, but the Omex runs all the engine etc
You can map all sorts of stuff into the Omex (anti lag, launch control, flatfoot shift etc)
Plenty of mappers out there experiences with Omex, we used a guy called Chris Todd
Car was mapped at Surrey Rolling Road about 2 weeks ago, now running 401bhp / 360 lbs torque

you can map standard Focus 2.0 ecu to turbo although obviously limited to functions - but def can be done .

choose a mapper . as advised above and stick with them

word of warning - i converted my T230 Focus from Pectel T2 to RS mk1 ecu - you will def need the whole loom and i mean the whole loom - i ended up changing the whole loom to run it -

Example - my current Focus rs mk1 is a reshell - when rebuilt ( i pay rs tax insurance etc so its an RS OK ? LOL) the gentlemen/owner etc rebuilt it BUT with ST170 climate control - which means its has st170 DASH loom ( now i have optional traction control , i dont like it but its there) st170 fuse boox loom to engine and Focus RS mk1 engine loom - HOWEVER - when i got it live mapped - there was an initial problem as the ecu was looking for the charge cooler circuit which obviously isnt there ( so previous owners had gone through 2 engines lol i bought as a shell) so obviously it was in limp mode all its life - the mapper did his wizardry now my car is like a different car Oh i get like 190 miles cruising on autobahn 70 mph from say just under 3/4 of the fuel tank - i have proof i just hate my voice on video lol
