My nephew has got a Jag
2003
4 doors
4.2
Supercharged
19" wheels
TV
And a coolant leak that requires the engine to be removed to change the pipe
Not that I WANT to buy it, but how easy a fix could it be if I considered paying with some folding paper with the queen's head on it?
I have no idea what they are worth, even less if they are broken, this one has had an engine rebuild 2 years ago and that's all I know

Also, I've been banned from eBay by my Mrs do I can't look there either lol

I would speak to the independents as there may be a non Engine out solution. If not are you geared up to pull the engine out? It will be the labour that is the killer and most of the engine out work is simple nuts and bolts. You may as well do a clutch and timing chain / belt whilst it is out though.

That's going to be the problem, unless it was all done at the earlier rebuild, all the other may as well do it costs.

You wont have to do the clutch there all autos.

ive seen a 3.0 local that I am tempted by as a comfy hack, the roads around here are shit.

Some of them are manual with a getrag box I should take no more than 6-8 hours to remove the engine and the same to put back after repair + anti freeze oils ect

Later XJ's are all automatic.

The one you are referring to has a Mercedes transmission.

I would image it's fairly labour intensive (as removing any engine is) due to all the gismos they have.
