Default Mk3 focus rs engine problems?

Does anyone know what the actual problem with the mk3 rs engine is? Is it just a case of they fitted a head gasket that isn’t upto scratch or is there more to it than that?

Been thinking about one as a daily.

I’ve seen ford warrant them upto the mountune 375 package which is pretty good and plenty for an everyday car. Just would like to find out more about the reliability of them in general.

Wrong head gasket fitted according to the link.

Mustang 2.3 Ecoboost gaskets fitted in error to some RS engines.

According to the article Ford are replacing all Gaskets and heads if required for free, but only till Jan 2019.

Assuming it's passed the head pressure test to Ford's spec then yes.
If it has a new gasket fitted by Ford and then fails I would think Ford would still cover future repairs.

Phoned up about one and they told me it had a new engine fitted then a new cylinder head not long after, maybe the replacement engine still had the wrong gasket fitted.
