The Crocodile Hunter

I need to change one of the top bearings on our mondy, ive seen that some people reckon that to get the strut off the car you need to lower the subframe on one side as splitting the bottom ball joint to lever the arm downwards in order to get enough clearance to get the strut out the hub may damage the arm bush? And you can have issues with the driveshaft popping out once the hub/arm are separated.

anyone actually done this that can comment?
