Default Lost car key

I have a 2017 Ford B Max and I have my car fob but my wife has lost hers. Anyone know how much it costs to get another and how to go abut it please?
I asked in the local cobblers and he does a basic one for £70,

Ditch the wife. Cheaper than a new key.

if its anything like Mercedes expect a bill of around £300 go to a ford dealer with your v5 and they'll make you a new one.usually basic cobblers ones only work with the old school metal key in the lock and don't do central locking / push button operation.

dealers usually wont make a new key unless you produce the v5 first. Mercedes are particularly awkward. they want to see the v5 AND the car before they make a new key which is difficult if you've lost the only key you had...

I do have my key and the code, but I don't know if there's anywhere that will make a key and use the code if I gave it to them.

you get the fly by night small add local guys but I wouldn't trust them to scan your key and your car to still be there next week.

I've bought a new Ford car key fob but the Locksmith couldn't programme it. He tried all ways but says as it's so new only Ford can programme it. So I will have to ring up the Ford garage and ask them to programme it. The key cost £130 so I'm guessing the garage will want a fair bit too.

A friend of my wife had her car in a vw dealership recently and they have lost the key. They offered to make another for her.

after speaking to her insurance company they are saying that all the locks etc need to also be changed or she's not covered. I believe the argument is on going, as you can imagine the dealer is trying to wriggle out of it as it's going to be very expensive to sort

The Locksmith rang to say he'd given me the wrong key, it had he wrong chip. inside. In fairness he's refunding my money so now I have no option than to get one from the Ford dealer.

Locksmith must check the key before delivering it to you, and for getting the original key. Ford dealer is the best option.

I don't think locksmith can give you the wrong key at that moment, there must be some issue that the key hasn't worked properly.
