With that much power on a 2wd Saff you are going to need something pretty strong!! What gearbox are you going to use ? If you live in Southampton Richard at Tremona Garage may be worth talking to.

If you are having to fabricate to add a different diff then worth considering a 6 degree in there at same time and have it made / make it to take the new diff as they hook up and handle much better on them.

I suspect that boils down to how the lsd is set up as I expect the weight isn’t hugely more?

Jag diff has got to be twice the weight of a Cossie one, it's a real ball buster to lift.

I've got one fitted, but the car is a long way from being driven so can't comment on handling.

That’s a lot of weight out on a pendulum then....the supra diff is a chunky unit but I don’t think that much

It’s low down weight and at the rear so will more than likely balance the car out against the heavy engine so I wouldn’t be worried about it until it came to actually man handling the bugger on and off lol

Nice thing about supra diffs is that theres lots of parts and different lsds available for them. And they are very strong.

And people make fitting kits to bolt them straight in.

Lots of positives there.

Another option although it'd need DIY....what about the Nissan R200's or R230's ?

Again being a popular drift car item....lots of diffs and parts available ?

I wouldn’t necessarily says sierras hook up better on 6 degree beams tbh, I’d say they are more for handling purposes

Cheers Paul

Mine cured the wheel spin on mine. I believe that a lot of sierras dipped on the rear under launch and that dip caused the geometry to change which reduced grip. Part of the handling improvement is grip /traction in my understanding but I may be wrong.

Mark Shead and the chap who helped set my car up commented that it did mini wheelies under hard power, that almost went with the beam change.

Can’t wait to try full cradle and proper WRC shockers on mine.

Your right in saying the camber changes on the rear as the car accelerates and that can cause traction issues.
But I don’t think they are needed seeing as a lot of the quickest sierras that I’ve seen (in straight line acceleration) only have standard beams fitted...
There are other things you can do that cost no where near as much

Cheers Paul

Just by shimming the rear hub you can cure most of the wheel spin but I think the 6 degree beam will help against understeer
