Default any tips for getting rain x off windscreen, got it off now

a couple of weeks ago i watched a few how to superclean your windscreen type vids and rain x was used and stupidly i thought wow gonna try that..

so i did everything people showed etc, now all i have is smear city vision when the wipers are used maybe cos its shit, or cos its cold here now, and it looked like sunny california in the vids..

anyway how can i get this stuff off my windscreen its doing my head in now, i even tried soe solvent cleaner stuff we have at work, thats used for cleaning everything, tried it and its still coated..

rain x, more like smear x

thanks if youve got any tips to get it off

It's horrible stuff isn't it, I found it lethal under streetlights which would make it glare like mad. Gallon of super unleaded and a match maybe?

Panel wipe or brake cleaner should remove it for you followed by a good glass cleaner or glass polish.

I found the same tbh only works well if your at motorway speed but if your going slow and the wind can't blow the rain off your fucked lol.

We used to apply similar stuff called "ducks back" years ago when I worked at nationwide auto centre, the amount of people coming back to have it taken off was unreal, it came with a removal solution which we called the "antidote" lol, I put it on my rear and side windows but never on the Windscreen it's bloody lethal stuff.

Sounds like another product that promises the earth only to find out its total crap!! Hope you get it all cleaned off again. Once the windsreen is back to normal the best stuff I found for instantly removing streaks and smears was in an aerosol and came out as a white foam. Not sure if its still around but it was bloody brilliant stuff , I think it was called clear screen and Halfords used to sell it.
There is nothing worse than a streaky windscreen in the rain especially at night it can make driving very stressful!!!!

Try a blow torch, some wire wool and a wire brush.

As said at motorway speeds it's brilliant but slow moving when you use wipers it just smears

Ok i have finally got it off, my initial thoughts on the clay bar etc was good but it wasnt off, still shite when the wipers were on, after much internet searching some people kept mentioning cerium oxide powder, which i bought yesterday, and it came early this morning..
Amazon Amazon

so with my drill and a velcro backing pad glass polisher, i took to doing the windscreen, even this stuff was being repelled at first, 5 mins later...woo fooking hoo, ive got it off...yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

result..

bottle of rain x in the bin..

Hydrophobic properties ..so very rare I use my wipers unless it's a massive down poor ..it keep fallout and muck of the screen so wipers don't pic up and produce swirls in the glass also keeps the glass from fogging up ..thats just naming a few .
