Default 3 door speedo bouncing

Hello,

As above my speedo has decided to bounce around like a goodun, as in when in 1st gear it will bounce from 0MPH up to 80MPH to be fair it has always bounced around a little at low speed I just put it down to the glebe gearbox , I can hear a clicking type noise from behind the instrument cluster, so suspect its either cable or speedo fault, new speedo cable is on order, my question is if it turns out to be the speedo are there any companies that can repair them rather than replace as I don't want to lose my milometer.

Also anyone fitted/used the graham goode manual adjuster clutch set up they sale, if so any good.

Cheers

I have similar with mine at low speed it has always waved about (no clicking or jumping up to 80 though) but steadies up as the speed increased. Perhaps they all suffer from a bit of jumpiness.

It will be the cable, had this on a few 3drs, usually the inner snags as its dried out, or from memory burned where it goes past the turbo/exhaust.

Hopefully , took instrument out and it seems to spin freely enough so it's pointing to the cable

My saph does this, i put a new cable on a few years ago and it was fine for a while but its started again.

If you take it upto very high speed it drops off completely until you slow down too?
