Default YB breather and big wing sump help

.

After a bit of advice / help, I've decided to go with a big wing gated sump from G19 and they offer AN fittings for breathers etc, am I best off having one fitted for a breather system!!!

Now the car is only going to be road use so nothing over the top and about 350-370bhp.

I'm fitting one for piece of mind as I might do the odd track session and was wondering what people's opinions are as to breather fitting locations etc.

Any advice welcomed

Cheers

Yes fit one near front of the sump, if you don't want to use it straight away, simply put a -6 or -8 cap on it.

Ive fitted a wrc breather that has 3 ports, I'm only able to use 2 as I don't have one on the sump.

Yeap as above, get one fitted and if not used just screw on an AN cap.

Have big wing gated sump on mine with breather system, not used AN fittings on mine as no need really, not like it's under pressure like fuel system.
Personally think they are shite anyway and a waste of money, years of using jubilee clips on my fuel lines with no issues, now rebuilt the car and used AN and had leaks everywhere

Whilst you are getting the sump done definately worth getting a fitting installed for the breather oil return.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

Standard 3.5 litre oil capacity is not a lot.
And its not specifically related to power why you would want or even need one, but how you use your car.

Setup, grip capability, acceleration and deceleration max g forces etc etc etc

They aren't expensive in comparison to what people spend on stuff that has NO benefit to the performance or reliability of their car what so ever.

Simple contaminants in the oil from wear and fuel etc become less concentrated in 5.5l of oil rather than 3.5l of oil, larger capacity to soak up heat and buffer heat spikes. There are plenty of positives.

But your right it isn't an essential for road use.
