I paid £175 for a barrel, for a motorcycles though. But irespective of price, Elf fuel is top quality. I run Elf in my Motocross bike and have alway's had good result's with it, very consistant. I know a Motocross bike is different than a car, but I'm pretty sure they do the right thing's for all the fuel's they make and that they maintain the quality throughout.

Elf turbomax is 102 ron and 90 mon, wich is 96 pon.
Its not more than 102 ron as it is Fia aproved for rallycars.
It contains about 3.5 % oxygen so it very good for cars with restrictors.
You can run very high boost with this fuel without knock, but you have to remap for it.

That kind of thing alway's get's questioned, but I alway's doubt it. The only way I think it loses it's RON rating is if you left it in warm temperatures for a considerable amount of time, it would be fine if kept in a cool place. If you think about that theory in general how do petrol station keep their fuel RON consistant and how do the companies like Elf and VP Racing keep their product fresh? I keep my barrel of Elf out in my yard beside a corrigated shed in the shade from the sun ( when it's fucking shinning the bastard lol! ) and I've yet to experience any kind of disfunction, I alway's get a good plug reading.
If you where that worried about it though I'm sure you could through a taste of fresh fuel in to give it a boost!

Done a bit of research, seem's like VP Racing's MS109 oxygenated unleaded fuel is the most people's choice, think it's mainly done to it not effecting O2 sensor's or catalysts - and not because it has the highest octane reading. Here's a quote from a person on another forum:
"he got 461WHP on VP 100, then made 494 on the VP ms109."
