Default Is this antifreeze compatible with steal seal ?

car - 2006 ford focus sport 1.8 TDCI.
Has had about £2,000 on repairs in under 2 years.

over a year ago began loosing water and chemical test indicated bad head gasket, however 15 months on it still runs great, no smoke, no power loss, no oil/water mixing, just having to top up water time-time. I'd have it replaced proper but this car is suspected to have other big problems so I'm unsure what to do.
I bought some steal seal, I want to use it within next few days. My car currently just has tap water so I need to drain the water and am going to refill with antifreeze, I bought antifreeze today, it is Anti-Freeze + coolant in 1. I am not sure if it contains water ?

On the steal seal it claims not to be compatible with waterless antifreeze. if this antifreeze is waterless would it be okay to just add tap water to ti ?

cheers

Antifreeze should be a 50-50 mix (waterless cooling fluid is a totally different thing)

Yes K seal can be added biut as people HAVE ALREADY SAID!!!! it not know to be that good as it really a bodge and not a perm fix and might do more damage than good.

So if you do a 50-50 mix of water anti freeze yes you can top it up with tap water

Youve already put k-seal into this engine previously (or someone has on your behalf), is that right?

Source: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums...-ideas-please/

I wouldn't go adding another sealing product if i were you, you'll end up clogging up your heater matrix or something.

It should say on the anti-freeze container if its a concentrate or diluted.

You've run your car without antifreeze all winter...
Your flogging a dead 'horse' here... Know matter what you chuck in now, the only proper fix is gonna be to pull it apart

Yet again this is the wrong section

Or if you'd be so kind to do a thread in the projects section and keep all your posts in a build thread...

I'm sure everyone would be much happier replying to you problems in the one thread...
Please try and listen...! Do a Fastlife91 Focus build thread... please please please ffs listen

Wow..... thanks for the reply !

Well the antifreeze I have is labelled'' Anti Freeze & coolant ready mixed'' and I am not sure if it contains any water, and on the steal seal it says not compatible with water-less antifreeze so if I was to pour say 4 litres of this antifreeze in and 4 litres of tap water, then the steal seal, would that be okay ?

thanks

not sure about having to pull it apart, drives great 15 months since began loosing water, have to top it up time-time , no power loss, no smoke, no oil/water mix, whatever is the problem it does not seem severe so hopefully this steal seal shall resolve it.

I am struggling to actually find these ford focus forums, can you send a link for me to click to lead me to it at least ?

thanks

It's not waterless. When it says ready mixed anti-freeze + coolant, water is the coolant.

Halfords do a 5L bottle of deionised water for a few quid, what I used when replacing the coolant.
