10k-what car?

A few months back I bought myself an Audi S3 8P facelift model on a 58 plate as a new daily driver for 10k.
I love it, reliable (at the moment touch wood), quite nippy (300hp as it been remapped), ok mpg, and it's just a nice car that don't cost the earth to run.
I would recommend one to anyone.
I also had an A3 tdi before that which is what encouraged me to buy an S3.
Cheers Paul

They've went up quite a bit, I've took the notion for an 8 mr and they used to be 12k for a good one now about 15k. Basic fq models don't interest me, ohh and don't knock imprezas there's some cracking JDM only models out there, much better than the watered down crap we get anyway.
I just like the look of evos better than imprezas.

Appologies, been a busy weekend!
By everyday driver, i meant something pretty reliable and not old which is going to have problems. Ideally, id still like something with fairly decent performance.
Alot of you guys have mentioned the octavia vrs, but for me i just dont like the shape of it.
Ive been looking into an r32, theres some reasonable ones going with fairly low milage (40k) for around my budget
Ideally i can stretch my budget a little more, but only for the right car.
Id ideally like something with DSG too, any ideas?
Thanks guys

That's a good thing Glen ,it don't stand out but underneath its not much different from the RS4 , Arches ,Brakes , And around 60bhp less
Stick a Nice set of wheels on it and drop it a little , Sorted motor
Rs4's are anywhere from £14500 to 25k for super low lies , but even though I own one I wouldn't want to use it Daily .

Trust you to throw the sensible card out there
You cannot beat the sound of a Busso, a 156 GTA is an excellent shout.
A fairly forgotten car is the 6 MPS, 4wd and 260bhp, understated but plenty quick enough. Although rather alarming tax brackets.

Interestingly this popped up on Pistonheads today

As great a car as the E39 M5 is, you'll definitely only be getting a snotter for £10k

What's not to like about e39 m5's lol they handle well there 400bhp there reliable if looked after look good and nice inside and will no doubt go up in value. I've a few mates that have had them awesome out the box cars. Guy I know had one with a super charger on it that went really well. If I didn't have my saff I'd have one.

Rust is becoming an issue on the e39 chassis, jacking points and boot lid are most prolific, very good car though, I got to drive one once and it was fast but just didn't feel that fast, making it faster is extremely expensive too, muffler delete makes pressing the loud pedal extremely addictive as the noise is not far off a c63 in terms of wetting your pants imo, the chassis is superb though, lsd on the m cars make a massive difference too.

A 15 year old M5 as a daily? Hmmmm, no thanks.
A hot hatch makes all the sense in the world for this task and, for £10k, there are a lot of good options out there. As I said, 3 MPS surely has to tick a lot of boxes. Good performance, five doors, and you Bose stereo, climate, cruise, sat nav and all sorts as standard.
What sort of Golf GTI would you get for £10k?

You'll get a mk6 golf for that or even an edition 30 mk5 which is kinda cool and I'd expect it to hold its value quite well. Could also have the R32 which I have always fancied. Would need a bit more cash for the current mk7.
