Focus 1.8tdci MAF sensor problems, power loss.
First time posting guys, so.. Hi
Bought a 2006 Ford Focus II 1.8 Tdci last week, was driving a dream all of a sudden, turbo gone, power loss.. Struggling to accelerate at startup, Changed the turbo hose pipe. Problem persists.. Eventually get a EML on, got my OBD2 reader on it and it told me the MAF sensor or circuit is malfunctioning. Took the maf out and have it a clean, unfortunately had to drill the screws out as they were goosed and broke the screw brackets so now the MAF does not fit in snug. since cleaning and putting back in, I can now accelerate and turbo kicks in until about 3000rpm, then goes quite limp.
Question is, do you guys think because the MAF is not in snug, if so why would it now rev nicely Upto 3000rpm??
Also after looking closely, noticed the harness wiring connector has 6
Pins? And my MAF is 4 pins, will that make a difference? Still fits perfectly obviously.
Thanks in advance, Lee
