Rust believe it or not, they suffer badly, if you can get it on to a ramp then do so. Prices are rising lately like crazy, there are cars out there for that but be very careful in your reaserch

Yes they do rust. Welded a mates one up. Rear sills and inner arches where sills meet. That section has a foam type material behind it which gets wet and rots inside out.

back in 2007 I bought a year and half old one with 10k miles. turbo went at 14k miles. cost 2400 euro to fix. I had it for 5 years and that was the only trouble it gave. I sold it with 28k miles on it. you could see alright on the A arms underneath that they were starting to get spots of rust on them but as far I knew all the panels were aluminuin . mine was the 6 speed. a friend had a GT 5 speed and they were the exact same when lined up

If you can find one the 9GT is a fantastic thing to drive it's the RS model with some extra electrics like central locking windows etc plus aircon. These have the 5 speed box.
Tuning wise MR300/320/340 basically just the same car, so if you are going to increase the power makes no difference which one you start with.
Prices have firmed up in the past 12 months on these.
