Default Average costs for head work

I've got 2.0 silvertop and I'm looking at getting the head skimmed and getting it ported and polished and I'm just wondering what the average price people are paying?

Depends to what extent really.. and more importantly by who!
Costs vary massively. A skim should cost no more than £70/80.

Headwork is a minefield. Everyones "stage" is different and the quality is varying from one firm to another.

The zetec heads also flow fairly well as standard. Are you going turbo/big bhp n/a?

Looks like top quality work and reasonable prices as well. Costs seem cheaper now than when I had my 2wd head and inlet done to group A specc back in 1996.

i'd seriously think about an ST170 engine instead of the silvertop, as ports are bigger and cams are better as standard. can also be had for less than the price of head work
