Default Car thief's nicking BMWs in East London again

All

People with later BMW cars be on the look out, on Sunday 3rd April, 1015-12am 2 cu#ts in a silver ford mondeo i think 2007-11 reg, as too much glare so could not get the reg, tried to steel my 535D Msport 2007 by smashing the drivers window, plugging their lap top in the ODB port and clowning a key, but couldn't start the car after coming back 3 times. I think mine has the later software. Anyway the c#nts damaged the CASS unit, total cost from BMW Near 1k after all the tests and work needed to put right. I've got the footage on camera and have shown the old bill, I doubt they will catch them. The pictures are taken from my phone to tv so not great. Same night my mates 335 2010 convertible went missing with no damage, no glass on floor. again same silver mondeo in both cctv footage.

BMW alarms are shite, so I'm having to spend around 600 quid on a viper system or something along those lines, steering wheel lock just as a deterrent.

Please keep your eyes pealed and secure your new cars. 3 days of inconvenience, time and money. total basta#ds

I will post better pictures a video footage soon.

Sorry to hear! Living in East London, the first thing I did when I bought my BMW 135i was move the OBD port. Took about 20 mins and reduces the chances of someone stealing the car down to virtually zero.

I would definitely advise doing it!

And put another unconnected OBD port back in the original location.

My cousins' 1 series was taken from outside his house a few months ago. No noise, no glass etc just vanished.
It shouldn't be so easy for scum to do this nowadays!
The car was found in Kettering last week, taken from Stoke.

Mart.

Its a pity that something can't be added to the fake obd that frazzles the thiefs equipment.

Wire the fake Odb to the battery reversing polarity of pins 4 and 16, that should do the trick. Just remember to let the dealer know not to plug their kit in it.
