well iam 41 with a fiesta st180 so iam fucked lol. I don't care tbh I love the car especially now it's been Collins cp5 remapped etc . It's a very quick car and pretty loud on boost but it makes me laugh . Me and my mate at work who's got a focus st went for some dinner so took him out in it and he said it was the fastest thing he's been in by a long way but we booted it over pride park and as we came to the traffic lights a bloke and his missus was walking there dog we had the window down and they must of thought we was in our 20s as I heard her say slow down you idiots until she got at the side of the car and realised we are in our 40s , lights changed to green so we gave her some more boost and exhaust noise lol. My mate was just pissing himself .
it a car that just makes you smile which is what it's all about imo.
cheers paul

It is irrelevant what anyone else thinks, your life do what makes you happy, life is far to short for any of that nonsense.
I'm almost 40 and have just bought a naughty Cossie again great fun

Had a bit of a read through this and had to laugh. It kind of sums up everything that's wrong with the Ford scene, but also how nothing changes. The people who own older stuff moan about the people that own newer stuff and vice versa. There is some real dross around these days in the modified car scene, but there always has been. I remember going to RS meets in the early noughties and, because we were young and couldn't afford Cossies, no one spoke to us. The cliques were unbelievable. I've been to meets and car spots more recently and sometimes people are really chatty, others don't want to know. Nothing has changed really, other than it's now much easier to access car finance, so people don't tend to both modifying shit old cars.
I love how people continually moan about STs and modern RS models, like somehow the car scene should have frozen in time when it was all about what they liked. Let's face it, most of it is just because people don't like that they're not king of the hill anymore. I'm sure the MK2 Escort and Cortina owners were just the same when the shows got taken over by RS Turbos and Cossies. People just don't like change. I like some modified modern stuff just as much as the older stuff. But there were awful cars in both periods. After all, the current trend for a Fiesta ST with a splitter and Team Dynamics wheels is no different to the old trend for a Cossie on Rondells.
As for the original question about being too old to drive a modified Fiesta. Who cares? Just drive whatever you want. If you like it, it doesn't matter what others think. If you're worried about being judged by people you don't know and will never speak to, that probably says more about you than it does about them.

As the title suggests...
I've now turned 27, I'm driving a modified 1.4 Fiesta Zetec and I feel like a complete tit!
I see 18/19 year old lads driving similar cars and I feel like it's time to move on and do other things. I have a massive passion for gadgets, TV, seeing places and I've completely lost my interest in going to show's, meets etc etc.

the old guy at my work has just bought a fiesta st at 64 after driving diesel Mondeos for years....hes now turned into an aggressive old man racer and is chasing the power upgrades.....he could afford something bigger and better but chooses not to...drive what you want rather than what you think other people want....
