Default Fiesta ST150 Gear Linkage

The missus' Fiesta ST150 has a really heavy gearchange.

There's loads of chat about reaming the bush out, and Mountune do a (fucking expensive) quick shift kit, but does anyone know if the bushes in the standard arm are replaceable and available?

Cheers All

Neil.

This may have nothing to do with what you want but when i had a ST in the cold weather it would freeze up the gear links and i would have to wait for it to warm up so i could put it in first.

Well thats my 2p

I'd imagine ford would only stock it as part of the selector arm

This fix only seems to help if the change gets stiff after driving a while.
As a long-shot I gave it a go on mine and greased it up but no difference, more likely to be the synchros in my case as double de-clutching on down shifts helps it shift a lot easier.

Thanks Jimmy. I think I'll strip it down and have a look.

There's a good guide on here somewhere that I followed on the Mrs fiesta when this happened. It's really easy and you should do it in an hour if you've got abit of knowledge on the spanners. It worked for me and has been good for nearly 2 years now. Same symptoms you have. I thought it was the box at first.

Could it not just be cold gear oil. Most cars I have had are a but tough notchy going into gear when cold including my current car and that's only done 30k.
You could try changing you gearbox oil.

Or the full selector mechanism on the top of the gearbox. Had both of these probs on my mk1 frs.
Lubed the selector mechanism and done the gear oil and it sorted my stiff change.
