Default Storing car on and underneath a 2 post lift

Would it be ok to store a car, Sapph in this case, for the winter on a 2 post lift so another car can stand underneath? I always feel a little bit worried when the car is on a 2 post lift for more than a day or so, but I guess the lift should be fine as I assume the lift is mechanically locked in position anyway. Is the car also going to be ok? The chassis is supported differently than when the cars is on its wheels, so could it hurt the chassis over a long period? And also what about the suspension, if that is constantly fully hanging? And are there any other things to worry about?

a close freind of mine has a couple of 2 post lifts in his underground garage, all he does is remove the wheels and he stores them fine, he does drop them down and give them a run every few months though

Suspension could well start to squeak if left unsupported, but I can't see it damaging anything

Is there a special reason why he takes the wheels off? Is that to relieve some weight from the suspension when it's hanging, or just to create more room underneath the car?

If the suspension would start squeaking, I guess that would be caused by the bushes. In my case most of them have been replaced by PU anyway, if that matters cause I thought PU was self lubricating.

Something like this doesn't seem like a stupid idea.
