Anyone clued up on Transit TDDI Engines?? (conversion)
Hi,
Looking for info on an idea ive had about fitting a Transit RWD TDDi engine and box into something else,
What problems will i have in getting it running in the other vehicle? I know they are fly by wire throttle pedals but have heard some LDV's run the same engine but with cable?
Would i need the key and dash cluster?
How much of the wiring could i bin?
Im thinking along the lines of Tddi over TDci for hopefully simplicity reasons.
Any advice would be ideal
Cheers

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
I've heard that the tdci engine is actualy a lot easier to wire up than he tddi
Mate i know has put both into a smiley recovery truck and says the tdci was easier to get working,
Cant tell you any more than that, not seen him in a few years
He done the tddi 1st so maybe just new the layout a bit better the 2nd time with the tdci

Yeah, but i thought the TDci would have been harder to get up and running ie on the electrical side.
Planning on fitting one in a Mk2 Transit

The LDV convoys also had flyby throttle well the ones ive worked on did.
Imo the TDCi engine is the quicker engine.
We had a fleet of trannys and they were spot on. We had loads with over 150k on them.

My mate has told me about this conversion and various mix and match new/old/engine/fuel pump conversions and gave me a fairly detailed explanation of what was involved but would have got the info from google. It was to give has smiley face recovery truck more go, but he ended up getting a newer one.
