Default 12V jump starter power packs? what you got?

Seems they start at about £40 and go up to £400?

Anyone know what would be suitable to jump a 5.0 V8 Merc lump, occasionaly?

Looking into it for someone whose storing a car away from a power source in a rented lockup over the winter, and feel this is a easier solution than taking a spare battery and jumpleads with them each time.

If you let the battery go flat then jump start it all the time it will just knacker the battery, so a trickle charge is whats needed.

Get a solar trickle charger that either plugs into the fag lighter if it stays permanently powered up or wires directly to the battery.

Mate had a car he would use once every 2 or 3 months and it was always killing batteries, with one of these on there it stopped his problems. It had a really long lead on it so he run it up the wall and put the panel just above the garage door.

I would be interested in one with an tyre pump as my cars are in a lock up garage with no power so it would be handy to pump the tyres up

the cars normally in a garage connected to a ctek.

but going to be moved for several months into a lockup with no power source. and solar probably ain't an option, tho Will suggest it.

I've got a bluepoint one. It's really small and comes in its own case.it has a USB point on it so you can charge a phone ect and can start a diesel land-rover with no issues

EBay link so you can see what they look like and you can get them loads cheaper off the snap on van

I have one the small ones at it does say on them starts a 2.0 petrol up to 10 times. Ive used mine twice no probs. However the ones about twice the size of a phone will do upto a 7.0 petrol or 3.5 diesel.

I guess it depends what you need to start and how flat it is.

i think mine was made by Jumps but will need to check. Was £50 at the NEC classic car show.
