Anyone used vinyl/leather spray paint on interior? Door cards/dashboard
Iv just bought a mk2 escort with brown interior and personally I hate it, the door cards are in pretty good condition but I want them black and any other vinyl parts, anyone ever used this spray before?
If so and if it's any good what's the best way to prep the parts I'm going to spray?

I may go down the re wrapping route later on but for now I'm hoping I could just spray them, my dashboard has a small chuck missing about a inch square so I'm going to have to repair that aswell

My mate used it on a car with great results, he used the halfords one. I used it on my 205 sun visors to bring them back to as new and it has been perfect there too.
I would consider offering a swap though on a forum as someone may be looking for the brown?

I used carfolio spray on a dash, console and door panels . That was 15 years ago now though so you probably cant get it anymore. Went from black to blue and had no problems at all with it scratching off.

I used it on the door cards on my series two as I wanted them black to match my flocked dash. I used the Halfords vinyl one. Prep wise I just gave them a good scrub with soap and water then did two coats on each door card.

A lot of the panels inside my cossie have been painted black by the previous owner about 5 years ago using interior spray and it still looks and feels good to this day I'm quite impressed.

I haven't used a spray but I did buy a kit off eBay to change parts of my door cards from dark red to bright red.
I had to sand it down with wet & dry paper, use an alcohol cleaner that also stripped paint off and a leather prep solution. And then you sponged on the paint. Then a sealant. It worked really well. I used the sponge kit as I didn't have my spraying gear at the time. I did get a slightly streaky finish but if your going for black I think it will be fine.
This is the kit I bought, http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/360558405030
I will look for some before/after pics for you.
I would happily do it again.
