A touring cars brakes get very hot and spend there time continually stopping from flat out. I doubt they see much 30-70mph around town action

fair play lol must stop well I've been in a 700bhp one with 330's on 6 pots it stopped extremely well as a road car. Track would be different were the brakes are used to there limit for a long period.

As I've alluded to before, bhp has little to do with it.
It's the use and pad selection.
If the pads work from cold, l don't believe your disks can be too big.
Race pad in road car, not so good for the first brake application.

Does my head in all this, for 800 bhp shit, consider the use and spec the components accordingly.

I mean as in a very powerful car driven hard will get to massive speeds. Having to scrub off 160+ quickly over heats brakes and causes them to fad. A good set of 330's from ap with 4 pots or 6 pots are more than enough in a road car. 378mm disc's in a car that weighs as much as a Sierra are serious over kill in a road car lol. I had a compbrake 330 4 pot kit and they was shit. 2 or 3 really hard stops from 150 and they faded out big time. Never had my ap's fade on me. But then I never faded my compbrake set up with 350bhp. The car just didn't get to really high speeds as fast needing me to brake so aggressively

Don't forget some decent pads too as I know sometimes people over look this and just go for the biggest they can fit

Cheers Paul

Cool cheers Paul

Think I will see what high spec can do with my calipers and see what size disc I can get in them, I really would like 330mm tho. High spec have quoted me £50 per caliper just to inspect? Then 24 pounds a seal kit plus fitting, seems a bit of a piss take to me

Cheers si

How did Breda manage to rotate his rear calipers 90°? It isn't possible to rotate the hub due to the bolt pattern?

No it's not possible to rotate the hub 90 degrees. I think Reyland does a kit to mount different calipers to the front of the wheel, but I think you will loose the handbrake function with such a setup.

I think thats one of my kits Fredrik bought years ago. It is possible to retain the original (4x4 type) caliper to serve as handbrake.

when i bought mine there was a few hundred £ difference between the 2, and i should have really gone for the bigger ones, not because the 362's are bad, it's just that i would have been more of a show off

Ha fair enough Dojj! That's not really relevant to me, I just always seem to like the most expensive bits

Those water cooled 6 pots sound awesome...don't see them on Martin's website though...

I'll be inquiring in a few months though yeehaw

Philip.

Thanks Martin, that was the exact thing I was wondering as I would like to retain the handbrake.
