Default engine losing power

can anyone advise please, I recently bought a 2005 2.0 TDCi ghia estate,
on starting it ran a bit lumpy but picked up on increasing the revs.
Had it serviced fuel , oil, and air filter all changed and ran fine
Two days later went from Derbyshire to London and after half an hour I noticed frost light on and saw a bit of black smoke , due to heavy rain and spray was not too noticeable, It was only when the engine was under pressure on an uphill gradient I saw the black smoke and it started losing power so that I had to keep changing down , ridiculous on the motorway,
Engine cut out on Clacket lane services and would not start , AA man arrived and changed the EGR valve which was absolutely clogged up, started after a while but smoked, had a piggyback home, Got the car started but now have blue smoke,
any advice most welcome, reading on this forum members suggest split boost pipe sorry this request is a bit long winded

regards

Split boost pipe or knackered injectors. The normal pipe is the one from the egr valve to the intercooler down the front of the engine. Normally splits near the top.

Default power loss

Hi Dangerous Bryan

Many thanks for the reply, I will check the pipe when next home but the one you mention is that the one that goes from the EGR valve along the front of the engine, and looks like it becomes a metal pipe, there is another one that people have mentioned that is one for splitting that is from the under side of the turbo drops down between the g/box and Battery or somewhere in that location, AA man says codes were 404 and he thinks a poss 409 circuit control not sure what to look for on that one when engine is running smoke is blue and smells of unburnt fuel
