Yeah, mk motorsport is the man, get one of his covers too. It is just finding the diff in the first place. I would get the diff rebuilt by Bara with a maxi weir kit in it.

Make sure you find the right diff ratio though.

are the standard supra diffs not strong enough without upgrading it then?

I've brought the kit now so kind of committed to running supra diff as £730 into it already with cover. Got to find a diff now what ratio you guys recommend?

750 is still cheaper than a gripper or quaife that use the ford c.w.p that is a week point. At least your have peace of mind. Mine is a 3.7 41 crown wheel teeth 11 pinion teeth it's an ma70 from a 3l turbo

I've got the Weir kit in mine and it's noisey, the cover from MT Motorsport looks better imo and also comes with fittings for an oil cooler in the correct positions

hi
thanks very much for your order ,are you rear wheel drive if so then it depends on whether you want top speed or acceleration to determine ratio

hi mate
yes marks cover does look very nice ,i dont know what you mean about fittings in the right place ,of the 20 covers i have sold none have asked for a oil cooler kit yet ,mayby my cover just disperses the heat better ,but if they do need one the kit i came up with ,one fitting is the outlet and the inlet has a fitting inside that directs the cooled oil on to the crown wheel just like a squirt jet does in the block thats why they can both be were they are in the cover ,plus my cover has the extra lugs on the bottom to run tie bars back to the beam if ever there was a need ,i like your car and the rear set up by the way ,it would be boring if we all made parts like look exactly the same anyway lol

thanks mark

Your right about the noise! Not driven mine yet as it has no engine but pushing it around in the yard you can hear it clunking like my gripper did

Mine too clunks and is noisy but I don't mind it as long as it stays in one piece.
Mine was already fitted to the car when I bought it but I still had it sent off for a rebuild by Bara and I also treated it too a lovely new alloy cover.

It's taken some hard launches on the road and the strip and is still fine with 550hp.

Cheers Paul

I've heard they are bad, especially at slow speeds??

I personally don't mind it, what with the screamer pipe and the straight cut box I like a bit of noise!

Cheers Paul

In the limited miles in mine I have not noticed any noise but good to rule that out if I do hear any.

A FEW people broke the std covers hence MK and MT making a new cover which does away with a bit of the fitting kit. My MK cover is lovely,no leaks and looks great...I recommend this part if you bother spending over a grand on your new diff.....that or just break another cossie one.

Is there any mods you can do to strengthen the ford 7.5" cwp? I have a gripper and would like to remove the last remaining week point

Mine clunks and is totally standard was going to get it rebuilt but seems they are all like that. I've battered mine with around 500hp at the moment and it's fine so far just need uprated rear cover now but standard hasn't broke yet.
