Hi guys I've just picked up a lovely
st500 on a 58 plate 2 things
is there away to find out what number out of 500 my car is?

2nd and this has pissed me right off
less than 50 miles of driving and my powerstearing has strung a leak
has any of you had a problem with the powerstearing ?

I remember there being a recall on STs, my 07 included.
It was for a check the PS hoses were tight and not rubbing on something (not sure what though).
Maybe linked to that.
Ford dealership would know the details (or not )

IIRC they are not numbered. They just have the 1/500 on the ashtray cover bit, as its only cosmetic changes, they weren't specially built.

I found out about the recall by going onto the fordetis website and putting in my reg, and you can see all the details of your car the complete spec, extras etc etc.

Can't remember the exact web address, Google maybe your friend

Is it a focus or a fiesta? There is nothing different mechanical wise about them, just red leather interior and black with silver stripes (at least the focus anyway.)


As said above, they were not specially numbered.

Ok thanks I've got to say I've been
turned I've been a vw man most my life after driving my st500 wow wicked car loads of power I'm well happy with it well apart from the power steering going wrong hey ho
now I know there was a recall I'm gonna have a good look over it cross fingers I can get it back on the road by end of tomorrow

I've a black st500 on a 57 plate
tbh I've had a Sierra Cosworth and my all time best fun car a xr2
then went to vw
till I see this focus I'm Converted back to Ford's lol I'm so pleased with it
well till the power steering fucked up today after hrs of looking I've found out that there was a recall on st's for a pipe rubbing ? So cross fingers she be back on the road by Sat night
