FAO all large turbo esc cos owners.. what the hell is THIS!?
drivers side front wing..
took the arch lining out and found this behind the indicator
is it a bomb?
hidden drugs?
or my trakker?? (if so.. great.. everyone knows now! )

The charcoal absorbes the vapours given off by the fuel in the tank. When the car is started a purge valve opens under certain conditions (controlled by the ECU) and the vapours are sucked into the inlet manifold and burnt.

aaahh.. so that poxy silver solenoid thing that keeps clicking down by the inlet manifold next to the map sensor is something to do with this aswell !!!

It's not just fitted to large turbo cars.
I removed the same filter from my small turo escort, its almost half a kilo!!!
If you like?
Cut the rubber hoses, remove the box.
plug the hose going back to the fuel tank.
cut the hose going to the sensor, leave the sensor connected, the ECU looks for it.
