Default Best way to keep coil over threads clean/rust free?

As above, I've cleaned and painted my cool overs, how do I stop them getting all shitty again?
What's the best thing to use? Some spray oil like wd40? Or spray lube?

Waxoyl, grease etc etc

Or just never drive it.

Wax will keep the threads always usable, as will grease, but it can then attract stones etc which may need cleaned off first before adjustment. But the wax would keep them so adjustment should always be easy

Default coilovers

use a sock and chain lube/grease
some socks are velcro-some tie wrapped or use your imagination and a sizable inner tube...
using one without the other still lets them corrode

heat shrink tubing and any decent grease. only shrink the ends though, you dont want to squeeze out all the grease.
