Pug HDI 'vs' VW TDI
Firstly....Sorry this is not about Fords!
What are the views on 406 HDI's (136bhp version so the 2.2 16v) compared to VW Passat TDI PD (130bhp version so the 1.9 8v)
Is it easy to say that one of these engines is loads better than the other or are they very much alike as in reliability, part prices etc?
Also the built quality of the car.....Would the VW be better than the Pug?

iv owned several pugs and vag cars. both have been good to me. VAG build is better than French.
But my daily is a leon FR which uses the 1.9 pd engine. which as never failed to start or do what I need it to do. if you go for the Passat id get a code reader because you will need it.
I don't really know anything about the 2.2 hdi so cant comment.
