I have just fitted a Hart inlet and you can see why it is better than standard by looking at the inlet route. I am changing my throttle cable as it works a different way plus you need to consider the throttle body is much lower so needs different boost pipes.

Fitting takes about half hour as a bit fiddly in places.

mK does a nice new bolt kit which cleand things up and makes it easy.

Yes but the cable isn't long enough, it is a good thing though as once checked my original was not far from snapping so i am very glad.

Don't forget though that I have a 205 pug so the cable is prob bespoke to the car

The AS one is a copy of the Hart one.

I have been told the threads on the AS one is better than the Hart one (Hart threads always pulling through and need a helicoil or 10)

Did I not read the as one dose not have the mount point at the bottom for the bracket that supports the weight via a bracket to the engine mount?

I wondered what that was for on my hart...perhaps I ought to knock up a bracket.

Not running yet as need to do boost pipes and the last bits of skyline box install but not a lot left, just fiddly stuff.

I did the testing on the Hart on an engine Dyno so that's known to work. When price is involved why worry about testing the other one . Its funny that an rs500 replica would not get a second look & be slated but if its an inlet that looks the same & is cheaper it must be better .

I was referring to the RS500

For the Record, I have tested both, and strangely the results were the same. Not saying its right to copy things, far from it, but as facts go, I don't think anyone can argue one is better than the other when one is the same as the other. If anything the casting on the Airtec one is better.

I doubt bolting on an inlet on your level of tune would do anything unless that part was causing a restriction that lead to the mapper having to hold back the tune.

Either way I am sure it would need a remap to make any difference at all.

I have a Bailey alloy power steering pump fluid container and had to cut off and move the outlet pipe as it was fouling the inlet, plus lower and re-mount the RS 500 intercooler and alloy radiator. As I said it is not an easy thing to fit.

The AS inlet. The power steering pump itself stays where it is, it was only the the position of the fluid tank that one of the outlet pipes had to be cut off and re-welded on to the side to clear the inlet.

You will have to do the same with the Hart inlet as the AS one is a direct copy.
