Default Vxr v St?

I've got 7k to spend on a motor and I have my hart set on a st3, for my money I'm looking around 2007 model or older, with around 70k+
I have noticed that I can purchase a 58 or newer vxr with less that 60k miles, why have they dropped so much In price? Do they have a lot of problems?

Also I'm hearing the St are prone to cracked liners, is this true?

Honest answer mate, your either Ford or not it's that simple.

Every single person on here could probably buy something better for the money they have spunked into a Blue Oval but we are what we are.

Buy what your heart tells you

I bet you could get a decent Megane also for that budget but I guess it is all down to what you want.

VXR is quicker in a straight line but not good to throw about the corners.

I'd pay a bit more for an ST as I prefer Fords but depends on you.

Find a couple on auto trader from local dealers and go for a test drive and go from there.

Personally I'd rather get an STI off my sister than own a Vauxhall but I can't say I'd buy an ST with my own money either. Golf GTi?

I'd go with a Megane, VXR's have gearbox issues that can be a costly repair.
