One thing that couldn't be true....the claim it took 6,000 man hours. AS the whole build was 10 weeks that would be 10 people working solid for 60 hours per week. Even accounting for the 3rd party work it still doesn't add up. Plus, if the build took just half of those hours into account at just Ł20/hour that would still have added Ł60k to the Ł96k build costs, wiping out any profit.

Well spotted, and the labour charge would have been more than Ł20 per hour.Apart from that ( maybe they just miscalculated the hours ) I think it is an interesting show and they have got some good cars to restore coming up.

Man hours is not worked out like that in the automotive trade to time business side of things as 2 guys working a 12 hour shift jointly adds as to 24 man hours not 12 so a team of 5 guys working 12= 60hrs in a day

6000 * 20 = 120K by the way

I really like the program and given that the car was sold through coys auction god knows why the fuck any one wouldnt believe it, its easily verifiable after all its not like some random person pretending to hand over cash to mike brewer on wheeler dealers.

Only one that will be worth watching is the Transit one.

Beetle.. fiat 500... rover sd1....golf gti...All been done before on tv shows.

Get some new material, dont act like bellends, dont talk bollocks trying to make you look like someone you're not.... and maybe it wouldnt be such a crap show.

I did say HALF the hours so that's 3,000 * Ł20. i.e. excluding the out-sourced work. Nothing against the programme, really enjoyed it (and I'm old enough to remember The Persuaders ) - juts making the point that if these TV shows (Car SOS, Wheeler Dealers etc.) included reasonable allowance for labour most TV cars would result in a massive loss.

Ant Anstead's cars look pretty, and genuinely jaw dropping to me. Out of all the car restoration programs this for me is one of the most realistic.

That's what I said, 10 weeks, 10 guys and 60 hours each = 6,000 in total.

i much prefer these type of programmes then all the entertainment car shows. Would liked to have seen a bit more of the work/restoration being done to the car.

I don't really see the appeal of this program.

It COULD be really good. They cover interesting cars and appear to do a good job of them. But, as with every other car restoration program, it's ruined by the addition of yet another gob shite, chat bollocks presenter. Too much time covering the same ground and talking crap, not enough time actually covering the interesting stuff.

These programs always have to appeal to a mass market, and that's their downfall unfortunately.
