Hi all, has anyone used 'The Car Buying Service' before?? They called and came and viewed our car today and offered us what we think is a fair price.

They said if we can make it to them during the week then funds are transferred within about 20 minutes, but if on a weekend (as it would be) then the payment would not register until the Monday.

They said we would get paperwork etc but that we would then leave the car with them.

Never done this before and wary that we would be leaving signing over a car to someone without physically having the funds in our account.

I can see that they would not do it the other way around ie pay us prior to taking posession of the car so guessing this the only way round it??

Looking online there didn't seem to be an horror stories about them but wondered if anyone has used them?

this is the site...

I must admit the more I think about it the less keen i am to hand the car over, need to look into if transactions will go though if online on a Saturday.

Company seem aboveboard and the inspector did say if you come during the week it will be done the same day.

as you say it could be above board but is it really worth taking the risk ?, personally if I were ever to deal with anyone like this I would go back on a weekday and sit there in their office until the payment has cleared
