Welding
Hi guys just joined this site as I'm looking for someone to weld two inner rear arches into my series 1
It's already stripped and on a rollover jig
Im in leicester and will pay and cover all costs

Buy a mig, some good gas and get stuck in, it is easy to learn and soooo satisfying to get right.

I have been looking at that option can get a decent mig for around £300
Just don't want to mess it up !

I bought a Clarke 150, just make sure you get decent gas, the hobby stuff is rubbish.
Best to practice on scrap first, if you are like me once you start you will be using it al the time.

Agree with whats been said so far, get a machine of your own and learn. Its a great skill to learn, and you can save yourself a fortune too (in the long term), and as above, get proper gas, not those little white bottles, they don't last at all.

I was looking at the clarke 135te but the 150 is only a few quid more

The 150 is good if you want to work on thicker stuff as you wind it up to max and really get on it. Wings n stuff is the harder stuff as you can easily blow through or distort the metal.
Best to get a couple of wings from a breakers and just practice away. It is great when you get it right.

Just had two quotes to do my inner arches one was £500 the other £70 ?????
The second guy reckons the inner isn't welded to the outer lip just seem sealed ???
Think I'm gonna do this myself
