Have a look at the diagram you have, mite give you some clues the the location of the fault. I woulg have thought the auxillary circuits would have been pretty similar, what year diagram is in the Haynes?

both sides of the fuse is dead. if i power up the right hand side it does nothing and if you power up the left hand side it works the indicators etc.
So you are missing the live feed to the fuse, have a look at the wiring diagram. Follow the diagram back from the fuse to the battery, have a look at/test components along this wire.

The only thing pre fuse is the battery via a loom.

Got to check back in the loom from before the fusebox to look for a short somewhere

The fuse box may contain a positive bus-bar, if this is the case then other fuses next to the dead fuse will also be dead. Its difficult to really advise you any further as i dont have a wiring diagram.

its making sense now . so the only thing before the fuse is the battery via the loom.
and if there is a positive bus-bar in the circuit for the indicators then theres a good chance some other fuses will be dead as they might be connected through the bus-bar. does this sound about right????????????????

Well obviously your blower and indicators are fed from the same supply feed. No bus bar AFAIK but if you have a 12v test meter it should take about 15 mins to find the fault.

From you update it does sound like a short circuit and maybe even an open circuit in the ignition feed to the indicators.

With the ignition on do you have a 12v feed down the black wire to the indicator stalk?

With the ignition on do you have a 12v feed to fuse's 11,12 & 13?

With fuse's 11,12 & 13 removed and the ignition on you should only have a 12v feed at one side of the fuse?

.................................................. .................................................. ..............

when you flash main beam it blows no 16 fuse and the drivers side headlight stays on permanently whether ignition on or off......

According to my diagram fuse 16 is for the wipers, this sounds like a short

indicators still dont work - have you got a 12v feed down the black wire to the indicator stalk with the ignition on (position 2)

fuse 13 is for indicators and reversing lights. the fuse has been removed and the reverse lights still work

This also sounds like a short, with the fuse removed the reverse lights should not come on, something is feeding into the black/brown wire (if they come on when put into reverse) or the black wire if they are permantly on when in neutral.

problem solved. 3 wires had rubbed through behind the dash and were touching each other. all problems now fixed.
