Black Friday is the name given to the day after Thanksgiving. It was coined in the 60's to describe the heavy pedestrian and road traffic. Naturally, like most things, the yanks exploited it for retail shopping purposes, and it now more or less marks the beginning of the xmas shopping season. I'm not surprised Amazon do it, as they're an American company, but Thanksgiving has fuck all to do with the UK

And it's not about being happy or not. Personally I couldn't give a toss about discounts or bargains on a particular day or not, so I'm indifferent to it. But this is not the United States of Britain, but as every year goes on, our nation's identity is quashed further and further into the past. Sigh, I guess everyone wants to be American so badly these days.....
