Default Air fuel mixture gauge sensor positioning

Hi,
I am looking to fit wideband air fuel mixture gauge to my car and was going to place sensor straight after turbo?
After reading instructions it says to place sensor 20" away from turbo for best accuracy.
How much accuracy will be lost if I place sensor 5" away from turbo?
Also instructions say place sensor between 9-3 o clock, I put it straight after turbo this is achievable.

If you put it to close to the turbo the heat will fry it, put it further back in the downpipe

all I can say is with regard to response from my experience the further back it is the longer it will take to respond, in the tailpipe there is a considerable delay, but just a few inches back in the downpipe will still be quick to respond and safe from overheating, my supra was eating them with 2.2 bar on a gt42 with the sensor behind the turbo
