After sum info on speeding me and 5 mates been out on road bikes today n cop bike has been behind us and got us at 117 but watched video and all you can really see is last person in our grounp and rest of us had pulled away then we stopped at a cafe and police bike pulls in behind us, can we all get done as a group? I didn't think they can do us all as they would have to prove each speed for us all, then sum1 else has said they can only do the last rider??
Any1 got any info, also what sort of ban am I looking at

 

As far as I'm aware they need solid proof, reg, speed ect

 

i guess if he reports all of you for the offence, it'd come down to a magistrate to make the ultimate decision. I assume any charge would have to go through someone like the CPS first to see if there's any realistic chance of a conviction, so i reckon it's going to be a waiting game for all of you that weren't clearly visible in the video.

If they don't prosecute you for your speed then they will prosecute for due care and attention / reckless driving with endangerment to life etc etc so either way you are most likely fucked.

You've already stated there is video evidence which is bound to show you all travelling above speed limits ? ie pulling away from the cop, or him not being able to keep up with his speed also being recorded.

If he's trying to charge with speeding, you may be better accepting it as a lesser offence, in case he does pull the reckless or dangerous driving card, which basically relies on his word against all others.
And he could lie through his teeth as many cops will do....and he will still be believed unless you can produce some miracle to prove otherwise.

If you can find a genius solicitor who things you can challenge it though, maybe it is worth a shot. But if you lose, you'll probably get well and truly fucked.

 

Getting done for speeding seems about the best outcome.

 

Although I guess it does also depend on exactly what speed they're accusing each person of.

Worst case...they could accuse you all of street racing.

The only real question I have is though is it obvious from the video which vehicle is being checked or what proof they have that it was one particular bike that they had?

 

Surely the cops video must be able to show the reg plates of everyone he wants to do for speeding? If it only clearly shows one reg plate of the bike that he was directly behind, then that to me can be the only one in the shit? How can the others get done if their bikes cannot be clearly identified?

If has a solid timing and visual over a mile distance...that would probably be considered pretty good evidence.

they only need 1/3 mile or something like that.

Also...if talking about it in public, best not to say you did these things...only that those are the allegations made against you.

Admitting them or anything like them on a public forum....could easily be picked up and used against you.
And believe me, the lowlifes do have fuck all better to do than trawl through forums looking for things to twist against people

 

well if he has you on camera at the start and you pull away from the slowest rider who was clocked at 117, theres no court in the land the would decide that you were doing the speed limit.

if he has a picture of you at any point and a picture that can identify you as the rider your pretty much fucked

When I got stopped after dark in 2012 you couldn't see my numberplate until the police had stopped me and were about 10m from my car. My friends plate wasn't readible at all at any part of the video I was shown as evidence. The solicitor had advised that had he not admitted to it when the police went and knocked it would never have made it to court.

A friend of mine was court racing in a 450bhp turbo civic, so you can imagine the speed he was doing. While a copper was 4 cars behind him. They followed him pulled him over ect. He denied it was him, video quality wasn't great couldn't see his reg. He got away with it just by saying they couldn't prove it was him.

 

Surely they can only prosecute the riders who's registration plates were captured committing the offence , I would get the rear rider to request a copy of the evidence against him and take it from there - the fact you were only caught up with at a later time at a café means that it could be any other group of riders that he filmed ?
