Default Phone unlockin Q...settle an argument ;)

m8 from work has bought a vodafone VK207i for his mrs and she wants to use an O2 sim card in it.

so the question...does the phone need unlocked first?

he went and paid for it to be unlocked and as far as i knew all vodafone or o2 phones already are?

hold on just thought as im typing...is that vodafone's own make maybe?if so then i could understand it bein blocked

anyone?

IF phones are stolen they are BLOCKED and cannot be used again !

If a phone is locked to a network then it can be UNLOCKED for use on ANY network

I have heard rumours that o2 phones don't need unlocking. Phones on vodafone contracts do, and looking at the make of the phone you're asking about, I would say yes, it needed to be done.

The VK models are vodafones own brand so its probably locked.

If it was an everday brand on contract then it will be unlocked but all new pay as you go handsets from vodafone are locked.
