Default NEED TO TEST A COILPACK!!!!! HOW????

as above need to test a coilpack and need to know how to do it!!! Obviously want to know how to trigger it, i.e. earth the trigger earth wires to each side, but where????

I presume the ecu trigger wires into the ign amps????

Any help greatly appreciated!!!

what car is it? there are specific values you can test for with a multimeter.

2 greens on the plug are earth mate...the middle wire is a live, on the bench with a lead and plug attached one on each side switch 12v onto the pack, earth one side you should see a spark at the corresponding side, same again with the other side earth out, spark.

if it is a 3 pin for coilpack try it on a fiesta or mondeo etc with a efi cvh lump or a 16v zetec

Going to say, if it is individual all they do is split the live feed to the 4 packs....same principle applies, one wire can't remember the colour is live the other is earth but don't just wire to earth for the purposes of the test put a live feed to the pack then switch the earth to see the discharge at the plug !!

the only info I have is the primary resistance, it should be 0.45 - 0.55 ohms. measure between the + and - terminals on the connector.

Right there is spark on both sides of the coil so no issue there.

Any other suggestions?
