Orlando is almost in the middle of Florida, you have about an hour drive to the East to Cocoa beach which is quite nice. That's near the Kennedy space centre which as said above is definately worth a visit. So, pay for an extra night or whatever (book on th net, or probably just turn up) out there and do the 2 together.

Or, on the West coast St Pete's Beach is good, a bit further though (2.5 hrs?) Again worth a look over that way (about 1.5hrs?) from Orlando is Bush Gardens in Tampa http://www.buschgardens.com/buschgardens_default.aspx

This will be included in the 5 park FlexTicket (the best way to pay for admission to all of the non-disney stuff.)

Again, grab a hotel over there for a couple of nights. Less than 50 dollars per room per night is not uncommon. Don't expect marble floors and sexy french maid room service, but as a room for the night you can't fault the cheaper places - rooms are clean and a good size, and will usually have a TV etc.

ive been to florida 5 times, its a wiked place, all the theme parks are well good and exciting(if ya like rollar coasters and that), clean, and the food is lovely out there. the water parks are excellent too, you never get bored

id recommend rentin a villa, or stayin at one of the resort hotels with the disney land charactors

we always go with travel city direct, get the best deals, look on the internet or the teletext

its a place u will never forget, and its a very active holiday

theres also places like old town, (in kissimi, dno how to spell it, soz) they have a car nite, all the old american cars go down there, theres also a sky dive thing there 2 and go-karts etc...
