It amazes me too!
Black smoke is unburned diesel. So why would you waste diesel?

The 306 DTurbo owners in Ireland do it.

And our government are trying now to tax diesels after getting every man and his dog to buy one in the last 8 years

Yet the yanks can do what the fuck they want.

Diesels make more power with a richer mixture, but produce a lot of smoke and high EGT's.

Why the F...k would you want to do it? Do the yanks not have any laws about vehicle pollution! The morons who are doing it should be booked and made to sort it out! The most stupid " fun " thing I have seen for a long time!!

WTF he's just driving past people and flicking a switch to cover them in smoke pretty childish even by my standards.

There are good gains to be had without, and that's how they should be tuned. But, if maximum power is required, then they will run them richer and get smoke like you see. A petrol car might run 12.5:1 for maximum power, and you don't see the unburnt fuel. Run a diesel at 12.5:1 and you get a huge smoke screen.

I'd bet you've misread what he's typed, yes the power can be increased without removing filters and producing not too much smoke.

But if you do remove the filters and aren't bothered about smoke they will be able to extract even more power from it.

From what I've read from stu, he's not there to create maximum power from road cars, more to give a good increase and keep the cars safe and smoke free.

ask him about creating max power from a diesel and see what he says

Often wonder how they get away with all the shite that comes out of the cars on sincity motors, it's nuts, just thought it was cause they're tuned so much, twin turbo diesels and that.

I love watching it though, just to see twiggy 😏
