do they realy give that much more power to a BIGGER SPARK
explain or yoour views please

from what i understand of them , they provide a bigger spark which makes it harder to blow the spark out with big boost set ups . kinda important me thinks

a mate of mine was having a running problem last year so took his car to a rolling road that his mate owns. whilst they where trying different things he fitted a " group a coil " and the rolling road operator showed my mate the figures it only produced the same output as a standard coil.

myine was missing on boost, so steve scott put a group A on it last week and its loads better, mind you one of the terminals on me old one was well fooked.

no hestitating on boost at all now

i put one on and it melted the dizz cap and coil lead i broke down . i then put new cap its fine now but dont think you will notice any power increase its just more reliable than they std one

gurnE it probably made a difference because your old one was fooked if you had put a new standard one on you would have seen the same result.

the only differance is that one is a wet coil ( the std unit ) and the other is a dry unit ( teh "group a" coil )

as for performance - unless teh internal voltage of the coil is differant or the windings are differant then i cant see it doing fook all !! until i see one tested back to back on a known good car i will reserve my judgement

I don't doubt it, it still allowed me to open my plug gap up to an almost sensible level.........lol

All I can say is I put one on my 500 and it made it run worse????

gapping as stu advised on mine and it blows spark out high up rev range (5k upwards) on new cap and arm so will a grpA help as closing gap more makes here lumpy as fook
