Default Greetings from Telford

Eyup folks. As you can probably tell, I'm new to this forum. I own & drove (until the tax ran out about ten days ago) a 1988 Mk2 Fiesta Popular Plus in Burgundy red. The car was bought by an elderly lady from the Reid & Adams showroom in Stranraer brand new & came into my possession last year with 31,000 miles on the clock. After passing my test in December, I used her everyday & her mileage stands at just short of 50,000 trouble-free & reliable miles. I brought her down from Stranraer a month ago when I moved to Telford. She's very clean & original (she even had the original dealer tax-disc holder, sticker & plates!). The plates were cracked & split so were replaced with pressed ones. the other dealer stuff was salvaged from a scrap Mk2 CL. anyways, enough of my blather, here's Fifi

While she's SORNed, I hope to fix her up when I get some money coming in. The front box has been patched up & needs replacing (rattles like a proverbial), the tie bar bushes are worn & making the car knock over bumps. The camber of the front wheels need sorting. Paid to have it done but the camber is still chewing through tyres. Finally the front of the car has suffered from the Scottish gritter lorries & needs spraying up. So, what do you guys reckon to my baby?

Not planning on modifying the car. She was owned by an elderly lady & I've no idea if she's passed on so I'm retaining the originality as means of a tribute to the previous owner looking after the car so well.

I went to Bridgnorth before SORNing Fifi, lovely corner of the world

Thanks for the welcome folks

Just outside Garlieston in Dumfries & Galloway. There was even a leaded fuel pump there. Oh god, now I know I'm old, I remember when they were still commonplace

What a great original little car!

Are you not a little tempted to lower it and fit some alloys?!

I would probably lower her but she has so much character, I think my inner child would cry a little if I did that. Besides, it took me ages looking online & in breakers to find replacement hubcaps for her, they remind me of a time when manufactures tried to style steel wheels
