Quick MOT question
my 2003 clio has front fogs lights as standard, if I take them out will it still pass an MOT ??
and if I did get rid of them would I have to get rid of the switch?
ive got a feeling that the front fogs don't effect the MOT its just the rear ones
cheers Ben

Not part of the test. Do what you like with them.

Correct, in addition the rear fog light is only testable where fitted.

Imports over 10 years old just have an MOT.

This inspection applies to the one rear fog lamp which is required to be fitted to the centre or offside of vehicles first used on or after 1 April 1980

Yes true. but just don't use them like all the other wollys with your head lights as standard... Are they blind and need the extra light should never be aloud to drive if that is the case. Cheers Pete

Rear fog is a legal requirement from sometime in the 1980's and as such will be tested.
Seems 01 April 1980 onwards it must be fitted and working.

I know, hence I am sure all vehicles from that point on (excluding imports) are fitted with them.

ALL vehicles first used after 1st April 1980. (Excluding Quads and Trikes)
Makes no difference if they came from the Moon, or the States as my 1988 did.

That's not what I said, read again!
I said all vehicles from that point were FITTED with them, some imports if not all were not, as such they would need to be fitted.

No you said this^^^^^^
, after the introduction date it doesn't matter if its fitted or not , it's still tested , if it ain't there it fails , if its there and doesn't work it fails etc etc
