Default C-Max opinions?

Hi all. Seen advertised near to me a 56 plate, petrol 2.0 auto Ghia C-Max with only 25k miles on the clock.

What are your opinions of a C-Max and does any of you own or have owned one?

Many thanks

Clarkie

Cheers YOREVOL.

Anything to look out for on the 2L engine or the auto box on this particular motor?

Cheers

we have had a 57 reg 1.8 petrol for the last 3 years. good car, never had any trouble with (until the missus hit a huge pothole and flatspotted a rim lol)

they seem to be quite heavy on tyres tho, ours is on 32k and on its 3rd set of front tyres. have been fitting continental sport contacts that were on it, so may change to a different tyre next time.

other than that and it being a bit slow its a pretty good car. ours has the panoramic glass roof too

I run an 1800TDCi as my everyday and I love it. Drives well, comfortable, well equipped and takes whatever I throw at it. As said, they ain't the quickest thing on planet earth and I'm looking to get mine remapped. Overall, I can't think of any reason not to recommend them. Mine's a '10 plate, bought last September with 18k miles and now up to 33k. I've put four new boots on and replaced a rubber hose in that time.

I've got a 1.6 110 dpf model. Great car, good mpg, cheap tax. I do have the same tyre wear issues as fudgey. My last set lasted 8 month (around 9000 miles)

Other than that though love it

Thanks all for your help and comments.

I will be having a nosey tomorrow at the C-Max I mentioned.

It looks lovely in black in the pics ive seen and I really do fancy a auto (god, how old do I sound!!). Its up for Ł4495.00.

I will also be having a butchers at a 03 plate 2L Mondeo which is for sale very close to me with only 33k miles on the clock and full history for only Ł2295.00. This one is manual though!

I thought the Mondy would be worth a look as its very little money for such a great car as ive had a MK3 1.8 Mondy before!

Mk3 Mondeo - trouble. Trust me mate, I've had both. Stick with the C-Max, FAR better car and far more versatile.

Mr S1. I thought the MK3 was a good motor? What issues did you have?

Was yours petrol or diesel?

Diesel, so injector issues but Mk3's have rear sub-frame bush issues and other niggles and are a pain in the arse.

C-Max is a far better car IMHO. Nicer to drive, nicer driving position, more practical and versatile as you can take all the rear seats out and use it as a van is needs be - streaks ahead of a Mk3 Mondeo mate, trust me !

What a bugger!

The black C-Max has gone!! I was just having a nosey on the dealers website and its not there now!

Liked the look of that particular one because of the low mileage.

They have one more which looks nice in tonic blue and in Ghia trim but is a 1.8 manual with 49k miles on a 56 plate.

Another dealer close to me has a couple which are auto. Both are 2L on a 07 plate and one has 48k miles and the other is the later shape with 65k miles.

I don't want to sound like a nob but ive always had cars which have had lower miles than these. Any issues to look out for?

Thanks again all

What a waste of time. One was in an appalling state and the other two werent much better.

Rust coming through on the rear wheel arches even though the plastic strip which runs from front to back along the sills was in place!!
