Hi all,
I am currently marinising a 2002 ford endura diesel van engine.
I have bypassed the PATS system by fitting a new single wire stop solenoid, the engine starts runs for a small time then stops. To start it I have to pump the fuel filter and it will fire into life again if I keep pumping the primer the engine will carry on running. Anyone any Ideas???? I have read where people have bypassed the PATS but had to alter the pump timing I am not sure why.
Also if you look behind the pump where the wires come out there is a linkage that is not connected to any thing any ideas what this was for.
I have ordered an electric fuel pump to put in just before the injector pump to see if the engine will keep running with this. I have read that the injector has an inbuilt lift pump is this totally mechanical driven or does this feature in the PATS circuit anywhere.
thanks John

I new the pump was coded but i believed it just to be through the stopn solenoid on the pump the original stop solenoid has four black wires that plug into the loom I took off the cover plate removed this solenoid and fitted a single wire stop solenoid this is working and allowing fuel into the pump what else is coded on the pump ??
